Four questions worth asking
Vendor feature grids all converge. Everyone lists campaigns, tracking and payouts, so the grid stops being useful about ten minutes into a shortlist. These four produce different answers.
1. Where do the creators come from?
Some platforms are open marketplaces: post a job, applicants arrive, and the filtering is yours to do. Some are search databases and sell you names to cold-email. Some assume you already have a roster. Sovian sources globally and has a person review each account before it enters the pool, which produces a shorter list of people worth working with.
2. Does it cover the bit between hiring and reporting?
Scripts, drafts, change requests, sign-off. This is what quietly eats a marketer's week, and a tracking-first tool leaves all of it in your DMs. In Sovian it's one queue. Review each draft and ask for changes, or turn on auto-approve for creators who've earned it.
3. Where do the numbers come from?
A public view count is an estimate. Metrics pulled from each platform's API on a connected account are what an invoice can stand on, and they show reach, impressions and watch time that public counts never expose. This stops being academic the moment you pay someone on CPM.
4. What does the price scale with?
Seats, tracked posts, roster size, or a cut of every payout forever. Sovian charges $50 a month plus a flat 5% on payouts, with no markup on creator rates. Whatever shape you're comparing it to, run it against next quarter's spend rather than this month's.
Frequently asked
A UGC platform is software brands use to find creators, brief them, review the videos they make, track how those posts perform on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and pay the creators. It replaces the spreadsheet-and-DMs version of the same job.
Sovian is built for ambassador programs: the same hand-vetted creators posting for a brand repeatedly, paid on what the posts do. Scripts, draft approvals, post tracking and payout rules all sit in one campaign, alongside a viral video library and an AI assistant over your own data. Pricing starts at $50 a month plus a flat 5% on creator payouts, with no markup on creator rates.
Four questions separate them in practice: where creators come from and who vets them; whether the tool handles approvals or only tracking; whether tracking reads platform-reported numbers or public counts; and whether pricing is a subscription, a percentage of payouts, or both. Everything else is usually a detail.
Published pricing in August 2026 runs from $50 a month for Sovian to $199 for Modash and $299 for SideShift. Modash only includes creator payments from its $499 plan. The older incumbents, CreatorIQ and Aspire, publish nothing and sell annual contracts through a sales process, so the real entry cost there is a year of software plus a procurement cycle.
